| | I spent the long weekend in Timberline Ranch, Maple Ridge for a church
retreat/camp. It was fun! Our guest speaker was Pastor Chris Jordan. He
came with his intern/intercessor, named Geoff (i think that's how you
spell his name). After the first session, it was quite interesting. He
told us about how we need to hunger for God. So I was kind of intrigued
by it and I want to know more.
After we had that session, we played this little game with our groups.
After the game, we just played pass with the frisbee. When we were
passing it around, my brother's $16 dollars frisbee went under the main
lodge and we really can't get it out. I started to ask Geoff about his
background and how he got saved, etc.
Then he started to tell me his awesome stories! It was so cool! I'm going to share a little bit on what he experienced.
He came from a Catholic background, but he doens't really know much
about being a Catholic, though he thinks he knows the Bible. By grade
5, he was suicidal, emo, and he was into witchcraft and those types of
things. When he was into witchcraft, he could hear voices in his head
that taught him how to do stuff. He got to the point where he can
elevate off the ground.
Then he was invited to his family reunion. Most of his family were
Christian. And during the whole week, he couldn't hear the voices at
all. On the last day of the reunion, his family was having this service
and then they were just telling their testimonies about God and being
born-again. Geoff was like "what's born again? I'm sure that word is
not on the Bible" and then he asked the same question to his Great
Uncle for 4 hours! But after that, when his uncle had told him about
Jesus and being born-again, his uncle asked "Would you like to accept
Jesus?" Then he just said "YES!". So after he accepted Jesus, he felt
like somebody just flush all the ugliness inside him; and he felt this
hot liquid-y love washing over him. When he opened his eyes, his vision
was like whitish everywhere (he described it as like a movie scene
where everything was washed out but you can still see).
So then after quite some time he became a born-again Christian, he
prayed and prayed for roughly about an hour every day in tongues, in
his closet. On the 7th day when he prayed, he can feel wind inside his
closet. When he opened his eyes, his closet was so bright and there
were no shadows at all inside his closet. Then he opened the closet and
looked into his room, and it was really bright and NO shadows at all!
In the middle of his room, there were 3 pillars of light! When he tried
to stand up, he just fell right down on the floor and all he could
say/shout/scream/yell was "Holy! Holy! Holy is the Lord" (just like in
Revelation. the description of the Throne Room). He claimed this to be
the greatest encounter with God he ever had.
Dude! that's awesome! So while I was listening, my thoughts were "WOW!
I want to experience that too! I want to meet God like that too!" By
the way, Geoff's only 22. Once he healed a guy who had this grey-ish
things in front of his eyes and he can't see. Geoff prayed over him in
the name of Jesus and when the blind-dude opened his eyes, the grey
thing was gone and he can see again! Geoff also prayed over a dead guy
once and he lived again. MAN! That's like in Acts!! Where the disciples
could pray over dead people and they live again; also when you can see
people healing right in front of your eyes! WOW!!!
Seriously, I want to be like that! I want to feel God! I want to
experience those things! It's ... Amazing! GOD IS JUST AMAZING!
Yesterday, when I was deep-frying. and I was waiting for it, I started
to sing some praise to God. Then I felt a song coming up from me. So I
started to sing a song I just made up right on the spot. That time, I
felt this hunger and thirst for God. Then I started to cry while I was
singing. I could really feel that I was desperate to know more about
Jesus and about God. I mean, seriously.. like desperate! Man.. I'm
really going to enjoy my prayer time!
So that's a bit of glimpse on how I feel right now
